About OptionsNerd.com:
OptionsNerd.com was founded in 1998 by John Summa, its current president.
It was one of the first option education websites on the Internet offering option trading education. John Summa emphasizes a net options selling approach in his option training, whether
in equity or futures options, which is based on his belief that the odds of achieving long term profitability from
option trading are higher if you write options instead of trade options from the buy side exclusively.
He developed this method originally from writing covered call options on stocks.
His philosophy of selling options time premium using option spread trading
setups is explained in his book, Options on Futures: New Trading Strategies (John Wiley &
Sons, 2001), and in numerous options trading articles published in Stocks
& Commodites, Active Trader, Stock Futures & Options, CRB Trader, Investopedia.com, OptionTrader.com,
New Age Investor, and Futures Magazine.
More on OptionsNerd.com's founder:
John's knack for insightful market analysis gained attention when
he correctly identified the technical breakdown of US equity markets in late 1999, warning his newsletter readers
to prepare for the start of a bear market in 2000. In 2001, meanwhile, John co-authored Options on Futures: New Trading Strategies and a companion book, Options on Futures Workbook, both published by John Wiley & Sons. In
2004, John published another book, Trading Against The Crowd: Profiting
From Fear and Greed in Stock, Futures, and Options Markets.
Besides professional trading and operating OptionsNerd.com, John currently
writes a monthly option trading column for Investopedia.com, and continues to publish his trading ideas elsewhere.
A former professional skier, John is a Ph.D trained economist from the prestigious Graduate Faculty at New School
University in New York City. He lives with his wife in Burlington, Vermont.
